Born in Oxford, I discovered my passion for writing at a young age, filling notebooks with poetry that tried to make sense of the people and world around me. That early love of stories never left; it simply grew alongside a varied professional life.
After school I joined a respected Oxford firm of solicitors where the Head of Chambers also served as coroner. Watching investigations unfold from fragments of evidence gave me an experience that still shapes every novel I write. Later I moved to a Government Research Department, honing the analytical skills that help me plot crime thrillers and stories.
Family is the heart of everything I do. I raised my two sons largely on my own, with the steadfast love and support of my wonderful parents-in-law, Milly and Ed. The loyalty, courage, and resilience I learned in those years run through every page I write - especially in the determined women who refuse to look away from injustice.
